![]() Yep - You need at least a 10 foot shot of chain for any anchor. It does 2 things...The weight of the chain helps the anchor plow and grab and the chain won't wear and fray if you're anchoring in the stick stuff.

![]() Use a 4' piece of cheap garden hose to help prevent chafing
If the anchor gets hung you can make a few circles and cut through the hose and rope and get 90% of your rope back
