Additionally, I figured folk that had clubs already fished during the off-season because there's no one enforcing it. Do game wardens ever check the club's property in the first place? This new rule just simply made it official. With or Without the rule I dont see what it would change. I think the main problem is private clubs to begin with. Kind of lame that the state chose to sell so much public river to private. I don't have a big understanding of how much river is under club boundaries compared to public water- I know that for hacklebarney state park it's actually mostly private however... id like to imagine a hike from the bottom of that stretch to the top with a rod in my hand, but at its current length it's not even 3 hour hike I think. |

My problem is that this proposed rule is for publicly stocked rivers! Yes the very same rivers that you and i fish and that our trout stamps pay to stock fish with. Why do they get to be special??? because members pay $17,000/year for access to private piece of property that a river runs through? i don't know about you but that is some serious expendable income which only the 1% can afford

It is BS that the trout we pay for through stamps can end up in their part of the river. I just dont see anyway around that however. |

Through the efforts of the Knee Deep Club we were able to get the state to table a proposed rule that would have not allowed any boat to anchor within 200' of the entire shoreline on Lake Hopatcong....Some well off and connected home owners didn't want to see party goers in their cove anymore and tried to sneak the boating rule through in the middle of the winter... Your voice will be heard..this is what makes America Great..
