Most spin rods have one or two less guides on them compared to conventionals. You can put new guides where the old guides were, and you might have a few flat spots that really wont hurt anything. so yes it can be done. If you want to add guides, then the placement is different. You will then see rough spots where the old guides were. To have it done professionally it would cost more than the rod is worth.
