just keep catching fish and a big one will happen by! put a bigger piece of hotdog, maybe that'll keep the small ones off you somewhat.

Have u tried using a live sunfish or bluegill? Big channels gulp them down pretty easily. It'll eliminate the smaller fish from the equation. Nice fresh cut baits like herring, sucker, eel, or panfish chunks will def draw some larger fish in.
