Salt water report for the kayak guys

Gotta love the migration out east! Were the fish keyed in on rain fish or peanuts? I was out there a few weeks ago and the harbor was packed with peanuts, spearing, and 4-6" snappers and sea robins. I'm hoping its a great fall out there after a dismal season last year. Bring on the herring!!!

Jigman, all the fish I caught, I was using either a 3/8 oz or 1/2 oz jig head with a soft white plastic or a 3/4 oz Hogy epoxy jig. All the fish were on 1 inch rain bait. I didn't see any larger bait around at all. There was one time that a school of rain bait was jumping into my kayak to get away from blitzing albies and bass !!

Here is a short video of the action from yesterday morning in Montauk. 2 hours straight of non stop bass catching at sunrise. The bad news is that it only lasted for 2 hours and then everything shut off. Still a great morning !!
