I heard they have to leave them in so the guy who owned the old pier does not loose the "rights" to the land under them??? any truth to that???

You would think they would put a few danger buoys or something because if its your first time at the marina and its high tide, you'd have no idea they're there until its too late

Know someone who has a slip near this person, he just returned from canyon fishing, got hung up on these. Another boat wake(ferry supposedly) smashed the boat into the pilings and punctured the hull where it then took on water as tide came in.....
