It may take weeks to go back to crystal clear, but depending on the size of the river, usually about 3-5 days before it is fishable. As long as the river isn't up over its banks and puking mud, there are fish to be had.

It all depends on the river. Smaller rivers will generally go down sooner than bigger ones. Rocky rivers will clear up a lot faster than silty ones.
