![]() Yupp I've done the same thing when I first started servicing reels. Break it back down, remove all the grease from the gears and bearings. Then use ReelX on everything and you should be back to new again, possibly even better then new! That ReelX stuff is pretty amazing.

![]() Google Alan Tani's website. He often gets complaints similar to yours and 9 out of 10 times it's due to greased spool bearings that should have been oiled instead. His site will probably have a detailed breakdown of your reel with step by step pics of the breakdown to ensure you put each piece back together correctly.
