![]() If you are feeling a little spendy, def. Saltiga 20, as others have recommended.
I took my friend's saltiga 20, 30T apart for maint. and cf drag and I could tell that they were real quality reels. If on a budget, avet sx or saltist star drag works fine as well. |

![]() I have been using an Avet S/X for years works fine for me. Also have a Torium 14 that was my original Tog reel and is now my back up. Both work fine for me.

![]() I switch between my Avet SX and my Daiwa Saltist LD30 for blackfish and most other bottom fishing. They are both powerful little reels for the money and have performed flawlessly for me.

![]() Avet SX is a nice light compact reel that I use for all my inshore fishing... Everything from 40 pound Stripers to Fluke and Blackfish.
The Avet is however a lever drag real... So, unlike some of the star drag reels mentioned above, it will take a little geting used to since it will will not automatically engage the drag when you crank the handle. You have to move the lever drag into strike manually.
