Yes it is!!! The Windtamer is perfect for eliminating wind knots. We have been slowly converting people over to it. Fishermen are set int heir ways, but once they try it, they don't leave it.

Haven't had any issues with the slick yet, but I don't cast too far with it. Maybe it sucks for surfcasting. I only boat fish so I wouldn't know. I tried the Fins a couple of years ago. I had the limited stretch braid which I liked, and the regular braid which I didn't like. Never tried the wind tamer.

Are you using a spinning reel? I ask because yesterday I was casting a jig upcurrent for a while, granted it wasn't too far maybe 20 or 30 yards but I didn't have any issues. I had it on a conventional though. I guess I'll stay away from putting it on a spinner.

Years ago, when I was first starting to convert over to braids, I would use a heavier size on all of my spinners. I always felt it helped.

That may help you out. Instead of using 20#, maybe bump it up to 30#, even 40#?? Your still going to be way under the mono diameter. Snagging rod with braid........ that can get real ugly, no matter how good you are !! I still keep mono on ours.
