Andy keeps a few Trout for the smoker now and then but I always release FW fish. Andy could of taken the fish if he wanted to.
There were no Trout to be had today...kinda unusual for that lake.
You must have a DEEP deep fryer

Awesome kitty!

A weight formula for channel cats courtesy of Wikipedia: W = (L/L1)^b (Invariably, b is close to 3.0 for all species, L1 is the length of a typical fish weighing 1 kg. For channel catfish, b = 3.2293, somewhat higher than for many common species, and L1 = 45.23 cm)

Based on this formula, your fish weighed in at a hair under 6 kg, or approximately 13.21 pounds.

Lightbulb Re: Personal best catfish:

Thanx guys !! I changed it up top, sure not 20lbs !!. The wifes' brown trout was 31" and 18lbs and I stuffed that into a stream trout net, barely. When we went to lift the catfish into the boat it felt like the aluminum handle was going to break, so the two uf us grabbed the rim and lifted it into the boat.
