Default Mongo walleye part deux 8/18/2017

Went out again last nite before the rains came. Was hot and balmy...skeeters worse than usual. Started with soft stuff. 3.5" shad had some taps, nips and bumps but no takers.

Switched to the big stuff around midnight. 6" plug. Launched it across the river into some slow back eddy stuff. Once it hit the fast seam in the middle my rod doubled over. Kept the tip way up as she hunkered down. 15 seconds or so until she budged off the bottom and out of the current.

Slid her up the bank....ooooo baby. Nice long, clean fish. Taped out at 27" or so. 2nd 27+" fish in a week! When it rains it pours m-f'ers! Lol... quick release and she swam away strong. Took video of the release. Maybe I'll post it on YouTube or some ish but it was cool. Check her out...

Thumbs up Re: Mongo walleye part deux 8/18/2017

Oh wow! That's a beauty!!! The Walleye are attracted to vampires, obviously! Watch out for a hungry angler in the area, he's been killing everything he catches including Walleye!!!

There's a river harvester on the loose? I'll shank him! Leave the river walleyes alone!

think I ran into him one day at the confluence with a few nice smallies on a stringer if it's the same guy (seemed to know what he was doing, not a brigader). unfortunately I can see eating the eyes, not knocking his right to consume, but don't really get keeping the smallies. hopefully he's keepin em cause he's got a family to feed.

That's not cool at all. Keep 18-21s but let the big girls go. And bass taste like shit I don't care what anyone says. Dumb keeping them. This news upsets me. If I see that I'll cut a stringer and deal with the repercussions to save quality fish.

Nice walleye !! I'm always on the fence about people keeping fish. On one hand as long as they obey the laws, then on the other hand, the river only supports so many fish. Wish the guy was a carp fisherman, then I'd say keep as many as you want.
