It was the biggest I ever caught and maybe the biggest I ever saw and it is swimming around with my lip gripper hanging off the lower jaw. Bass don't shake like that but Pickeral require the lanyard. Stopped in at Tackle an Field to replace it and the young man there told me last week another fisherman came in with the same story.

Another reason not to use them! Most fish, but especially those of the Esox variety throw a fit on a Boga. Too much potential for permanent mouth injury with them thrashing and spinning around.

That sucks. Lost fish, and gear.....
I had a pike head shake and knock my pliers out of my hand last year. Lucky for me I had popped the hook already but I watched a decent set of pliers sink into a deep hole never to be seen again.......

Looking at the different grips on the Boga and the lip gripper I think the lip gripper is far less likely to cause damage but Esox really don't like boats.

sorry to hear that,i lost my rapala knife cutting my lure from a bunch of fishing line that i hooked into,i found out that they don't float even with that wooden handle. on a good note i did manage to get that line out of the lake so someone else does not hook it or a duck gets tangled in it.
