Default Carnivorous Canal Chain Combat

I planned on fishing the ladder but with four fellas already fishing it I made a 180 and fished the canal hoping to put t-rigged zoom u-tails to work.

I planned on just bass but ended up landing 2/3 chain pickerel and a lil bass.

3rd pickerel would have been caught if i didn't check my text messages. I was dangling my lure right beneath the water surface and I see a pickerel SMACK it I set the hook either too early or too late. You bet that one looked like the biggest of the three...

Moral; Dont text and fish

I also tried some spots on the the spill-way channel that goes from the canal to the millstone. It looked promising with how deep it seemed to get just off the banks of it, along with all the trees underwater. Along with some cast from this point, around the fenced pump building, and to the falls, no action.

Once the drizzle stopped and the temps/humidity shot up the action seemed to stop.
