Sterling Forest Slime Dart
We all know the Q&A:
"When do you fish?" And we often respond with: "When I can". Today was one of those days. I decided to hop across into Orange County, NY to fish one of the lakes in Sterling Forest. Rode my mountain bike to the spot so in case I got the skunk, I would at least get in some exercise and enjoy the great scenery and have it all to myself. I ran into a man and his dog the entire time there, not a single other soul, coming or going. 20 MPH N, NW winds were not favorable conditions for beating the bank. However, a husky slime dart decided to cooperate. With the head shakes and pulling, I thought it might be a rainbow or brownie, but knew for sure it wasn't a bass; no diving, violent tugs. I was quite surprised to be greeted by Mr. Dart. Didn't have time for a weight or measurement 'cause I wanted to get him quickly back into the drink, unharmed. Needless to say, this guy did NOT go hungry over the winter. My 1st fish of 2017. From the recent posts on the forum, seems like quite a few of you are well on your way to a great '17. Re: Sterling Forest Slime Dart
Looks good, and +1 for nabbing a fish in that weather.
Anyone else notice the early season slime darts have that red/pink color to their jaw? |

Re: Sterling Forest Slime Dart
That's a good start. Everyone likes to hate on the old Snot Rocket, but they always seem to participate when everything else is slow!
