I've been watching and monitoring the weather all winter long between winds and air temperatures and fronts i feel like I can get a degree in meteorology now lol. I can say I had a successful icefishing season on very limited ice and very thin ice at that. It was safe enough to hold my 260 pound body and am fortunate that I didn't fall thru comes with 20 years of experience I suppose and some balls. Any who got out of work early am and headed north ventured out on 2.5 inches of honey combed ice. I added a 12 foot board to the beat up melted shore line and headed out to the spot. Every step i took the ice crackled under my clob hoppers.
It was an over cast day till about noon. Shorty after the sun came out and I ended my year on a good note with dry socks at that. Somehow impressed and the bite was quite impressive. Here's a few pictures from today. Tight lines and I'm sure next year will be a great winter for ice making.
