Default Greenwood Lake and Monksville Draw Downs

Greenwood started their 5 year-ish draw down beginning of October. Word on the street is it's the usual 5' for property maintenance and cleaning up.

I've been noticing Monksville dropping the past few days and it's down about 3'-4' right now. I was figuring they were making capacity for the GWL water or maybe anticipating the hurricane. My buddy texted me this pic last night. Looks like they are gonna drop the lake 16' for dam repair. I wonder how all those standing stumps are gonna fare through this winter.

Yes, Greenwood is being lowered for dock / property maintenance.

Per the above sign, Monksville Reservoir is being lowered by 16 feet. The entire upper section of the reservoir, above the road crossing, is expected to be completely dry except for the stream channel.

A NJDF&W Freshwater Fish Biologist is going there today, for a look see.

It should be interesting to see. I wasn't lucky enough to see the bottom structure before it was filled. 16 feet will show a lot. Just worried about taking my boat out and hitting a stump and rock that I didn't know about. At full pool I pretty much know where to be careful and where I can let the motor rip.
