Default Raritan Smallmouth

Hit the Raritan at Duke Island Park to make sure my new waders didn't leak and maybe even catch a fish. Well the park lots were closed because of a walkathon event or something so headed upstream just below the dam. Hate that stretch. Managed one decent smallie on a top water popper. He was just below a nice little riffle where it drops off into about 3 feet of water right on the seam of the eddy. he missed it twice and came back around to totally smaaassshhh it on the third go. One angry fish for sure. And my waders did not leak so a successful couple o hours in my book.

Here are a couple of crappy flip phone pics to prove it...he taped out at 15".

Thumbs up Re: Raritan Smallmouth

Nice SMB, you can always go down by Raritan Borough and hit the Orlando Park stretch or PetersBrook stretch.
