Took a nonsponser out for a bottom fishing trip Broke manasquan inlet to find lake like conditions Saw 2 dolphin leaping Took a leasiurely hour and 15 minute ride to the shrewsbury rocks I have never targeted porgies in nj before so was surprised to be able to talk to a woman on beach. Lol Slow start many 8 to 9 inch porgies and 3 inch sea bass Made a number of moves slowly moving deeper Finished day with bucket full Threw back equal number Some real nice sea bass Ton of bergals Trigger won pool Fluke second Only saw 2 triggers on my side Did not see any dogs or sea robins 1 7 pound blue caught Some |

![]() the way you describe the trip you must have been on a party boat. seems like the charter boats are getting into bigger fish as they are more able to fish smaller spots that may hold bigger fish as i believe fish of about the same size tend to school together.

![]() Right now certain areas are holding bigger fish. Not so much smaller pieces but just different ones. A 9 inch porgy is pretty easy to catch as you get to the tip of the tail stretched out.
