Thumbs down Boating accident Greenwood Lake

Boat crash about 45 mins ago. Multiple injured. One with a "massive head injury". Two were flown by Medevacs (Hackensack 1 & Northstar) EMS transported the rest.

Prayers to all involved and hopefully it wasn't anyone from the NJF family!

Sad, but why am I not surprised. I recall a recent post from a NJF member who thought about going there this weekend and was advised not to. I hope he took our advice.

I'm reading this morning it involved a jet ski. Pretty late to be riding a PWC around, but it's sad to hear nonetheless.

.

Here's a news story on it: http://www.nj.com/passaic-county/ind...art_river_home

PWC's are bad news on a crowded lake. Banning PWC's from the Delaware Water Gap was a smart move on NPS's part.

It's only a matter of time before there is a bad accident in The Gap. There used to be a posted speed limit for boats and the park rangers would actually enforce it with a radar gun. Now I don't even see park rangers or COs. Just a lot of high-powered boats on full plane slaloming through crowds of paddlers and tubers.

Now they're saying it wasn't a jet ski, it was an unidentified vessel. Unidentified because the other party involved took off after banging into this boat hard enough to send four 70 year olds to the hospital (2 of which are in pretty bad shape). Grrr. I hope they find this piece of s__t!
