Default Andreas Toy MRMTC Canyon Trip and Results

Had stellar crew of Dan and Anthony with expert jigger man Dan Bombaci.
Left for an overnight trip starting the trip off with Mahis. At Night chunked and swordfish but no luck. Went trolling but only had small yellowfin and skippies.Began day chunking but no luck, highlight of the day was Dan jigging a white Marlin. Did some more pothopping to end the day with Dan getting our biggest
At 18lbs. Which has us in first place.

Don't hear of many white marlin being jigged! Great job! Just curious, would that be an allowable method of fishing in these big tournaments for catching a white? Never hear it happen, wonder if it would be a successful technique with all the trolling traffic normally found.

Most tournaments for Marlin boat has to be moving and no chunking involved.if bait is used have to have a circle hook. And leader has to be a certain minimum.

That's what I thought. When the fleet is on the whites in tournaments and they're all bunched up like a hot big eye trolling bite at the 100 square, I bet jigging for them would be a successful technique if allowed. Must have been a surprise when the angler saw what he hooked! Good stuff!
