Default Salting bait strips?

I just started salting my fluke belly and sea robin strips like the ones from yesterday I will use Sunday or Monday. I figure they will last longer and they do hold the hook a lot better. Anybody else do this? Results?

We always salt the mackerel and cocktail bluefish strips as they are soft to begin with and while fluke love them its still hard to keep it on the hook. Either they inhale it or you lose. . Have not salted the other strips you mentioned but cant see the harm

Don't get caught with fluke belly from a previous trip. According to the 2016 NJ Marine Fisheries Digest, "No parts of any fish caught on a previous trip shall be in your possession". You can use a strip from a legal fluke caught the same day but you must keep the rack for proof.

I don't agree but I thought you should have fair warning.
Just in case you get boarded.

Do as you please. I couldn't care less about what you do.

I wasn't judging. I was just trying to help.
There's no need to worry, it'll never happen again.

I thought I'd give you a heads up about the strips in case you were not aware of the regs. The CO's would write you up without blinking.

I've salted bluefish bellies for future use as fluke bait but I watch where I keep them, just in case.
