Default DIY fishing

Had a crazy month or so of work at work, home, and controlling my leisure time. The itch gets too real once my lines & gear are all dry!! But finally had enough done to where I could hit the water and get my well needed fix!
Besides ice gear for the winter,(http://njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77350), I've had some awesome results with a few homemade lures I've rigged up. To me, it feels better when landing a fish on a lure as opposed to the ol’ bait n wait method, it's just worthier and shows some type of strategy. When you land a decent fish on a lure you made yourself, it feels much more worthy every bite!! So, here's a couple pics of my latest homemade stuff and a couple fish that fell for my tricks.

That's awesome man- love a good gator- even more when u made the lure

And yea bait is fun- but tricking a fish with a lure is always so much more satisfying
Glad I'm not the only one

Esox great stuff....good looking home made tackle! It's like catching a nice fish on a fly you tied personally, just makes it all the more satisfying and rewarding. Some nice pike, helluva a set of dentures on that guy!

Very nice dude. I've seen lures out fish bait enough times that I'll usually go lures over live bait 95% of the time I don't even use live bait except for certain species or occasions. And there is more to just it feeling good making your own stuff. On pressured fisheries, totally original stuff (even if just slightly different or an original color) can make a huge difference! You know they've never seen anything exactly like what you made!

My two biggest largemouths, 22" and just shy of 24" both came from a pressured lake that I'd fished for 6 years never seeing one over 18-19" except one 20". I craft a totally original worm with a mold and plastisol and within a two week period I got both the 22" and 24" bass! Can't be a coincidence! Granted most of my other tinkering fails miserably, but I can't tell you how many trophies I've caught also on them! Keep tinkering!

Thanks fellas...if I could post how epic it felt each time I set the hook and started fighting on the homemade stuff I would definitely share the link.
Bunker D, the flatfish I actually made 1st and the darker one was the 1st of the flatfish. It's swim on the retrieval was off a touch and I was able to tweak what I needed on the gold one to swim right. Works perfect though...I luv me some Lazy Ikes!!
Cris, was hoping you would chime in here. Definitely not coincidence that you landed those bass like that. I think what you said is spot on and just that lil bit can make a huge difference! Would ask if you could post some pics of some of your homemade stuff but wouldn't want ppl trying to duplicate your 1of a kind lure/color schemes. I tried messing around with softbaits in the microwave poured into a bootleg mold. Can say it's GOTTA be easier with the right supplies!
