Mangrove snappers fight like Blackfish, keep 'em out of the Coral Reef with a high, hard lift. They go for Sardines, but you'll probably be cracking Hermits

Hopefully you'll be mangrove fishing at night on the reefs/wrecks in 70-100 feet-as this is when the jumbo mangos come out and play.

You get a lot of sub legal and just legal mangos during day but in the dark is when things get serious-especially just before/after the full moon. Many a night I spent on the reefs off Miami and the Keys filling my cooler with #5-8 mangroves.

Check out the new issue of Florida Sportsman as they have an article about night time mangrove fishing.
