Thumbs up Raritan river 7/24/16:

Out with the clean up crew this time from the fish ladder falls near South Bound Brook to the Queens Bridge in Bound Brook. Stumbled upon the mother lode of HUGE smallies during the clean up and got see a very large Muskie, easy 20 lbs. Did what we could, lots of metal, and yes tires.
Ran into FE at the ladder falls and he did a great job of cleaning up the banks, thank you !

Andy it is truly amazing what you and other volunteers do during your on going clean ups. At the same time it's beyond sad how much trash is discarded and how many people just don't care. You can't have a conscience to pollute our waters and parks the way people do. I wish two things: first the fines for littering were significantly more severe and second that enforcement efforts were increased. I would think the revenues generated from fines would more than pay for enforcement efforts. While it's inspiring to see what you and other volunteers have accomplished, it's tragic those efforts are needed and so many people are oblivious to caring about the environment.

Either way a HUGE THANK YOU for your continued efforts!

Thumbs up Re: Raritan river 7/24/16:

Walked up to the lock looking for trash but couldn't find much. Took the towpath down to where the old pipe was and couldn't find much trash there either! The area looks great!

Thanks Andy and CJST for all the hard work! Keeping the river pristine is no easy task!!!

I found that #5 Mepps on the shopping cart, along with an assortment of hooks and 1 Rattletrap. Lots and lots of metal in this stretch.

Just to give you an idea of the amount of garbage. Special thanks to the Pfizer company for helping us out. This is our 2nd trip on this stretch.

Incredible! It's good to see someone making a difference and not just giving it lip service. Again Andy a huge thank you for showing us what someone with conviction and the right set of values can accomplish. You represent the fishing community the way it should be and make a lot of people on this site very proud! Excellent work!
