Default A couple fish we caught, and THE BIGGEST CRAPPY I HAVE EVER SEEN....

Couple different places I fished over the last week, Manasquan Res., Assunpink, and Candlewood in CT. My buddy was the one who caught the crappy, this was the biggest I have ever seen in person in my life. It was caught in Candlewood Lake in CT, and it tipped the scales at 3.9lbs, check this fatty out. ALL fish were safely released back into the lake where they were caught.

.

It's surprising how big a White Crappie can grow with a nutritious diet and a few years to live.
That one looks like she is about to unleash a torrent of eggs.

Ok, I looked it up because I'm fascinated by these types of things.
Here is the Crappie growth rate by year as determined by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commision:

As you can see Crappie are actually slow growing fish. A 10" Crappie has survived 5 years!
