One of those days

This report is late but first chance I got. So my buddy Mike and I decided to try some Hybrid fishing last Friday. The weather man was predicting southwest winds of 20mph or more so we expected to get blown off the lake but figured we would give it a shot anyway. Well as usual the weatherman was wrong and we had a fairly nice day to fish and probably due to the forecast we only saw two other boats. My buddy has gone a handful of times and I have never gone hybrid fishing before. I know he usually trolls but we decided to set up on the anchor and drown some bait. We set up on the double anchor and got the slick going in about 25 feet of water and fished for about 45 minutes without any action. We were gonna pick up and try another spot but spoke to another NJ fishing member who suggested we slide down on the anchor line a little. We let out about 15 feet on line on each anchor line and slid into 30 feet of water and it was game on! Conservatively we boated 25 hybrids in about 3 hours before it got dark. It was so stupid we had to fish one rod each and at times couldn't get the bait to the bottom. There were a couple small fish mixed in but I would guess at least 15 fish went 5 pounds or better with a couple pushing at least 8-9 pounds.
