Tenacious Canyon Report 9/6-7

[Tenacious Sportfishing]

Hosted an open boat overnighter to the Hudson Canyon with Bryan, Steve, Dick and Jim. Trolled down the east wall to the bigeye armada until 8:30 pm with no bites. Night time chunking produced two swordfish. One pulled the hook and the other entertained us by jumping off our transom before being gaffed. Morning troll amid the 60 bumper boats continued with no bites. We tried for tilefish for an hour with no success and set up for morning chunking until 10 am when we left for home with our 48 in swordfish on ice. There were a few bigeye caught trolling in the early evening but the bite was short lived. There were some yellowfins caught on the troll and chunking but it was very sporadic. The size of the fleet I believe diminished the bite. We'll try again with the next weather window.
