Default Fish in the Surf

I'm wondering if anybody has been catching anything in the surf lately and if so, what? I'm curious especially after seeing some nice stripers being brought in at night on the party boats. I'm hoping the fall striper run shows up this year.

Went Monday after work to Sandy Hook Fishing beach 6:30-8PM north of the the parking area. Not one bite. spoke to a guy who worked the beach further north and back and still nothing. Should of gone one the The Fisherman Striper party boat instead.

Yeah I was thinking that - that's what sparked the interest. I feel like other than skates and dogfish, not much but figured I'd ask others. Seems like they are around though, and biting.

I had some luck with fluke from the surf in Seaside park about a week ago. Not much happening this time of year. Small blues are always a possibility too
