Default Manasquan Inlet Report

Fished the dog beach side of the inlet from shore for this mornings incoming tide. Water was as clean as I have seen it without too much sea weed. No fish though. Didn't see the boaters get anything either. Tough to watch some boats tear through the channel with little boats and kayaks drifting out there.

You are so right, Finnegan. The boat traffic is heavy there, and with the increase of kyack fishermen in that area, all boaters should respect others and slow down. All boaters are responsible for their wake, and since that area is not a no-wake zone, some boaters go too fast to get to the ocean. A few years ago, in a smaller boat than I have now, I was almost thrown overboard by a speed demon one day, so I called him out on channel 16 by boat name, and the guy came back and said I shouldn't fish in the channel. Several other boaters came back immediately, and told him he is driving like a jerk. I did that because I know the C.G. monitors that channel. The Coast Guard should reevaluate that area and make it a no-wake zone area. They should also make the entire area along the rocks to the ocean a no-wake zone once again, also. Thanks for bringing that up. Papa
