I caught my first open water fish of the year this weekend, a 26lb 11oz carp! I think this is the biggest fish I've started my open water season with. Not a monster, but a great start to the year. Caught it on red peach flavored corn with bread and grits pack. Fought better than any trout I've caught

Carp are fun to catch and overlooked by most fishermen. Nice fish.

I used to fish for carp when was a kid in a secret spot in upstate. Best day 10-15lbnds and 10 to 25lb. That was fun. Congrats on a nice opener. Hard to beat an almost 27lb fish. Seen huge ones out of big D

You must be rubbing some magic sauce on your bait because even your small one is 4 times the size of my biggest one ever haha...gotta respect the carp, strongest fish we have no argument! if they readily hit lures, i'd fish for them a lot more often haha

Jealous..carped all weekend..big skunk so far...it's only going to get better...nice fish
