Default Cabo fishing

Had a great time fishing Cabo last week. Decided to skip the boring troll 8 hours for 1 marlin (slow bite was reported) and took a 5 hours trip to troll in the AM and then do some bottom fishing to keep the action up.

We had 1 mahi on the troll and then put the live baits out. Fun stuff and caught 2 more mahi's. Hit the rocks for some snapper and grouper fishing. Got some great snapper and here's the catch of the trip.

Went out with Victor from Santi Sportfishing and highly recommend. Also did a guided surf fishing morning with Wesley from Cabo SurfCaster.

I absolutely love cabo!! Great food and drink, locals cater to you for a fair price, and some of the best fishing around!

Went there with my wife on out honeymoon 5 years ago and did a 1/2 day trip with a local on a small 23 center console! Trolled 3 yellowfin then saw a marlin! Capt pitched a bait and gave me the rod when I looked at him he sat in his chair and said have fun!!!! Line started screaming and 45 minutes later 150 pound striped marlin!

Nice catch to you!!! Makes me want to go back tomorrow

U may have missed te best deal down there , about half hour up the road to San Jose for a panga trip !
Everytime down there I fished a panga for a couple of days prior to my long range trip !
Caught tuna, dolphin , bottom species ! Also in harbor there is a good supply of big roosters !
U can chunk these then cast to them with a Roberts plug !

Glad you had a great trip. Cabo is one of the better places to fish. Today is my anniversary, 11 years exactly since I caught my first fish in Cabo. A 624lb Blue Marlin. First trip, first knockdown, never forget it. Been going back regularly ever since.

Love Cabo for fishing too. Charter a boat for an entire day for $500, lines in the water 1/4 mile outside the marina, and the place is practically polluted with Striped Marlin.

Only thing I did not like is a lot of Captains wanting to kill the Marlin instead of releasing them. I hear that's changing though.

Thumbs up Re: Cabo fishing

I agree Cabo fishing is awesome. I pre booked with the Elbudster 5 out of the 7 days I was there and received a phone call from the owner Jim Dillon from San Diego prior to my trip. I had questions and he had all the answers I was looking for. He actually convinced me to cancel a day or two with him to try panga fishing that one of his Captains suggested and boy was I happy I listened. The 1/2 day trip was $120 for the day $150 with tip well worth it we caught giant Pargo, Roosters, and Dorado (Mahi) less than a mile off the beach. I commend this guy for giving me the experience instead of just taking my $500 a day which caught me 9 striped marlin on the 3 days we were offshore. I have a pick and video of my brother in law and I with a double on! Exhuasting but the best day ever. Thanks Jim

Cabo is a lot of fun. Congrats on the great trip! I fished down there a few years ago with Picante Sportfishing, which was an excellent operation. We fished the Golden Gate Bank pitching live mackerel to bait balls and cruising marlin. Released about 30 striped marlin and hooked more in two 6hr fishing days (run to the bank was about 1 hour).

Jlavine,
I have fished with Victor many times in the past. Awesome guy and always puts you on the fish. I have caught tuna, mahi, etc ... with him. We just missed 2 times with striped marlin. Would have been awesome from that boat. Glad you had a good time!
