The fish are here, plenty of action on the shorts with a few keepers in the mix. Had bird life from the Point of the Hook all the way down the beach yesterday!
6 inch shads worked the best with the plain jigs catching a few also. Haven't seen any Sand eels this season, which certainly makes my life miserable with the bite so far! Way too many Rain fish, which is the staple for the smaller fish in our area. Tough to reproduce a jig that simulates those small, spearing like creatures.... Hoping we get a shot at some bigger fish soon, there's always Hope!! Weather looks good for the weekend, will give it hell as usual. Thanks, Capt. Ron |

Ron, try those 5" Tsunami split tail soft baits we use for the false albies.

They use small white buck tails up in montauk with this type of bait.

When I fish the Shark River for bass at night, and there are a lot of rainfish... the pink bomber is my go to plug and it works..
