It's not over by a long shot you were just in the wrong places at the wrong time.
Read today's reports plenty of keepers were caught. I have caught Fluke as late as Christmas when there was no closed season.

Had a 5 pounder while togging last year up off seabright, mid november, on crab.

Got invite to fish with some of my NY blackfish buddies to fish charter out of NY. Ended up with my limit as well as allot of short action. Fish were agrgresive so I would say it is not over yet. May give it one more try before the 27th,
