Default bluegill vs snake pic

Yesterday a bad kid took over my Millstone River spot and I took a pic of a bluegill on the end of his line with a northern water snake attached to the bluegill.

Why is he a "bad kid". He's fishing a public stretch of water before u got there. I don't see any foul?

Funny you posted this, I saw a snake tonight (not sure what kind) eating a catfish about 4 feet away from me. Saw him splash around in the water and come on land and take his sweet ass time having dinner!

I once came across a snake with a bluegill in it's mouth at a local pond.
Snake was 'stuck" trying to swallow the fish because he had extended the dorsal fins. Reached down, grabbed the snake and released the bluegill and then the snake. Both swam off happy.

Justin, whatever snake that you took a picture of was the same snake that Skunk mentioned that we saw on the Passaic River on Saturday. Had what looked like a bluegill on land, but when I got close to it, the snake released its catch, left it on shore, and swam back into the water before I was able to snap a pic. But it was definitely that same kind of snake.

Yea I was on the passaic, I wonder what it is and if it's poisonous... I googled NJ snakes and it kinda looked like a northern water snake, which aren't poisonous but I'm still not trying to get bit by one! Lol

I think he's a bad kid because he said that he scared an old Chinese couple who I saw fishing nearly every evening. I didn't see them for a long time now. They fished nearby for many years. The kid threw rocks into their fishing spot a few months ago. Another fisherman said that the kid got his rig stuck in a tree, then when he yanked as hard as he could with 14 lb test line, his sinker hit him between the eyes and he got 4 stitches. Now he leaves his father and fishes right next to me and casts across my line every time that he sees me. He will probably hook me soon. The kid is dangerous. When I told him a snake was in the water, he put bluegills on the end of his line in front of the snake three times and the snake grabbed the fish three times.
