Finally got the yak out today for some after work lake fishing in Monroe, NY. Driving up there, I have never seen the feeder streams and rivers along the route so overflowing. Literal waterfalls created where none ever existed before! Wind was borderline white cap when I arrived around 5 PM but laid down gradually and was flat calm with an hour of daylight left. Water temp was 56 degrees. Managed 4 smallies with a number of misses, including stockie trout that slashed the extra large shiners, but couldn't manage to stay hooked long enough for the net. No slobs but steady action in a nice setting. Nothing like having an entire lake to yourself within easy 45 minute driving distance of Bergen County.
