Default st. lawrence fishing

we are going up to Chippewa bay in 2 weeks for sanity's sake.. c@r only...been many times in the fall but first spring trip...water temp is 40 now but might rise a little, we are hoping for smallie action but eye's and pike are also fine....anyone been this time of year???

I was in the oswego area last weekend which i know isn't close to where you are going.howevere,as I'm sure you are aware its still very cold that far north and water levels are real high. I didn't find it fishable.

That's my absolute favorite area to get away to and fish. Unfortunately, I think you're a bit early. Personally, I go around mid June. I'd think about going for lake Trout if they're biting, but since you don't have a boat with you, that would entail getting a charter or rental. The first being the better but more expensive choice. Or just take in the wonderful views. I know Black lake is a killer spot to fish for bass in June, worth checking out while you're up there.
