12-21-13 Offshore Sea Bass Report

I don’t want to sound like a broken record (if anyone remembers what they are) but, Saturday was another good offshore trip. There were limits of giant sea bass up to 8LBS all around the boat and good catches of jumbo porgies with some limits of them also, one nice weakfish and a couple of small pollock.

The pool winners were:
Miroslaw Szydlowski from NY, NY with an 8LB Sea Bass,
Naazimm Ali from Newark NJ with a 7.2LB Sea Bass.

We have had some good fishing at night, which is unusual for sea bass and porgies, so our remaining trips will sail at 10PM. It looks good for our upcoming trips. Every trip has produced good catches and more fish are moving in every day. The water temperature is still 53 degrees which is warm for this time of year.
There is still some space available on trips sailing through the end of the year.
Sea Bass closes after December 31 but Jumbo Porgies are still open and the Jamaica is scheduled to make a few trips for them and hopefully a few cod and Pollock.
Those trips will sail 1AM every Saturday in January.
