Default Abu Garcia Revo Toro Nacl 60, or ? new tog reel

Anybody own or fish a AG Revo Toro? Looking for a new lefty for togging. This light weight graphite reel puts out 22 lbs of drag! I have been having bearing problems with a brand of lever drag I have been using. My fault since I exceed the max drag by fishing an almost locked up drag. Mr. Tog ain't getting back to his home! I am very much concerned with the castability of the reel. I do a lot of casting around the structure and get more bites. Am probably going to pair this up with a medium 7 ft Seeker Hercules or maybe an e-glass...don't know yet. My favorite e-glass and larger lever drag outfit gets heavy after a couple of hours. I spool with 50 or 65 lb braid uni knotted to 60 hollow core ace for a 50 lb mono spiced top shot. The Revo Toro has a small opening on the level wind guide. I am concerned with the top shot shooting smoothly off the reel. I serve my connections with glued uni's of 20 lb braid or with 1/2 hitches so the diameter is small. The mono laying over the spool also may cause a problem with its line memory by being bent. I am also considering an Accurate boss 400 which is heavier and back to a lever drag with a 4:1 retrieve - a little slow but has cast control. The Revo Toro is a 5.4:1 which I love. Never had such a difficult decision on this one and would appreciate the help! Please! Thanks! Fishfish

If you are going to go with the Revo go with the 50 not the 60 in the lower gear model. The 60 is very wide and does not balance well on rod. Rob (Togilator) started using this reel for blackfishing and has caught fish up to 12 lbs on reel. He knows his tog fishing and he is raving about the performance of this reel. He is a LI guy so he post on Noreast. Good guy that is willing to share good info

MVP, thanks for the reply! The reel has been on the market for I think two years now. I did order the Nacl 60 but I thought it was the 5:4 to 1 retrieve. Can be canceled. Don't want 6:1! Happened to walk into my local tackle store and the rep for the Abu reels from PF just happened to be there. He knew what I was after and ordered the 60. ?. Am having second thoughts since no one responded...until now. Also read comment from other sites that told of the brass internals, and will it hold up. I tog a lot and max out any reel. I was /am reconsidering my choice and now thinking the accurate 400 BX 4:1 paired on a Seeker Hercules or Super Togger. Thanks again!

If you can find one get a saltiga 20 and with a little care you will never need to buy another tog reel again, unless you want to buy another one.

I need a lefty and they only made the Saltist 30 in a lefty. Lefties have been discontinued for this year. The Nun should have hit me a little harder across the left hand! not, but it sucks trying to find a quality reel in left, especially in stock since I waited to the middle of tog season. How about PE reels in lower gear ratio?
