Lightbulb Raritan and others-10/19-20:

Fished Manville, Bound Brook and Somerset on Saturday with Wilson, nothing on the big water, scouted the lower Raritan also, really BIG water.
Wilson got an Esox in the canal, Tiger, maybe, spit the hook close to the shore and took off, looked like it had stripes.

Sunday went to Saxton Falls and got a rainbow and a few smallmouth, Stephens State park was a bust for me. Got a tip and headed back to home waters, had big brook trout following but no takers at the falls in Duke Island Park, tons of stuff in the water.
Time to hit the suds for stripahs any day now.

I have been beating the S. Branch to death the last few weeks and have gotten nada. I'm wondering if they even stocked the sections I fish. My favorite section is from Flagtown to where it meets the N. Branch, by Dukes Park. Last friday I fished the section behind Northlandz off 202, Dory Dilts Rd intersection, from the falls down past the 202 bridge. Did'nt see a damn thing let alone catch one. Sunnies and smallmouth, eating up my bait. And I refuse to drive around for 2 hours looking for a place to park at Ken Lockwood Gorge. I guess I'll head to Peapack-Gladstone this week, fish the top of the North Branch and head down this way. Hope you guys are having better luck and I'm open to any tips on where the trout are. Thanks and Good Luck.
