Default Friday Paramount Marathon

Went out with a decent crowd with some regulars like blackbear and Delores and Santa. Fluke fishing at the dock was rough, only 1 bite, had about a 19" fish up to the boat then I hit it in the tail with the net and it decided it was better off staying in the water. Snotty morning and nice afternoon. First drop was extra sticky and not all that good. After that it was a pretty steady pick for those with the gear to handle 10plus in a heavy current and 180 feet plus. For some others not so much. I would up with 31 ling, half decent fish over a 1lb and a half. Blackbear and wife had 54 ling combined. Santa had 20. Pool winner (Eastern Bloc name) had a 4 1/2lb ling and a half cooler full( he said 45, but the cooler wasn't big enough for that) Don't think anyone who used the proper gear and put their time in had under a dozen.

The afternoon turned nice and those with the right rods and could feel the bite did well. I watched 3 guys who used 15lb mono on tuna rod with 8oz fight with tangles all day.( what where they thinking) I stayed steady all day but it took Dolores a bit to get her touch but after that it was all good.
only lost 2 rigs so we did better then most who I watch lose rig after rig.
I caught a dozen snappers that I used for bait and they love them, they where attacking them as soon as they hit bottom.

Nice report guys ,thanks. I think I plan on waiting for the cbass to open.looking at Wednesday 10/3/13 as target. unless a cod or tile trip comes up that I can make. I tire of ling. I had mate try to break out a snag for my son in law last trip and the braid broke at the reel. Any idea where to get good price on red braid?

I like power pro. if it broke at the reel it must have had a fray , I saw mate wrap it around the handle to stop it from slipping and this can pinch and fray it ( bad idea, use glove to pull out braid and them you only lose the sinker or rig.
