Earlier in the summer while talking with 2 other fisherman (not together) at the Monksville boat ramp, they both claimed the fishing there has been excellent. I used to go there as a child and catch catfish and the occasional bass, but they were saying there are lots more bass these days and very large crappie. If you can get out onto the water and not have to walk the shoreline, I think it would be worth going....or go during the week when it's probably a bit less busy.

I've caught some nice fish in there. Very weedy in the summer. Senkos and live shiners are good. One night I was there and there were pods of fish slurping the surface. After chasing them around I finally caught one on a Rapala. Turns out they were huge bluegills.

Fished Shepard's lake yesterday. Only 1 fish in boat. 4lb large mouth.. very weedy and hard to get near shore... fish was caught on frog top water.

Next point of action is Clinton.. my favorite.. hope the fish are biting there
