Default Mid-day North Branch

Spent 2 hours on the walk around for three rainbows. First rainbows I caught this year. Feisty fighting fish. All caught on large butterworms.

Those Butter worms are killers, but expensive.

Expensive and very small in stores. Try www.elliotsbutterworms.com. Use the phone number on the web-site to order. 'Much' cheaper that way. Tell him I sent you for large butterworms to catch trout. I usually get 200 every order. They will stay in your refrigerator for months. Just take what you need for the day with you. Leave the rest in the fridge. I use chewing tobacco cans to hold them in my fishing vest. -Cuz-

no, not really. with the biggest order of 1000 worms, you are still paying $3.01 for every 20 worms, which isn't cheap at all, especially considering that you have to keep a thousand larvae in your fridge. i'll stick to DMF butterworms... just as big as elliot's and i can get at the local tackle shop, convenience store, or walmart whenever i need and not waste any.

Clue me in. What are DMF butterworms? I never saw butterworms for sale at any Walmart or convenience stores. If you did, let me know where in case i run out one day while fishing. I can make an emergency stop. I have showed the butterworms to several fishermen and they all stated they never saw really big ones like Eliott sells to fishermen. The smaller ones go to his reptile hobbyist. This last order I had many fat ones 1 1/2 inches long. That's a really large butterworm on any standards.
I like the man because he's honest and reliable. He always adds extra butterworms in his orders. Where do you find that here in N.J.? He is a minister of a church with 500 members on the west coast. The butterworm business is a side job which supplements his income. He also raises lizard creatures. All I can say is that I have caught over a thousand fish on butterworms over the many years i have fished. (I'm 66) Especially jigging thru the ice.

DMF is the bait company that supplies almost every place I can think of up here (Morris Cty). The same places that have night crawlers and trout worms from DMF also have the butterworms. They're the national supplier for Dick's and Walmart, so those places ought to have them (might depend on the purchasing manager at your local store i guess). my local convenience store (Denville Mart) also has them.
