Default Death of Prospewrtown Lake

This is the worst that I have seen it . I'm standing in 10 ft of water on the rear launch point across from Rollercoaster Point facing the front of the lake .

Looks like it'll be turned into an off-road park.

I beleive that year or two ago there was a "problem" with a dam after major storm. The lake was drained on purpose and the fish moved to other local lakes and ponds. I have not heard of any "word" to make the repairs needed and to restock the lake. Used to catch some nice sized pickerel in there.

It was because of Irene last year, multiple lakes had their dams broken. Obviously, some were repaired quicker than others.

Breaks my heart to see that lake gone, caught a lot of fish for many years there. It was the failed damn from Irene that did it in exactly one year ago.

eh, lots of stuff was broken and things take time to fix, i am sure it will be taken care of in the long run. can you imagine the outcry if everyone's taxes had doubled or tripled to pay for if they had tried to fix everything at once?
