Default Canistear Res 6/15

Since Canistear is the only watershed resi I havnt been to yet, I got up at 5am on my day off and headed out. Got on the water around 7 and it was packed!! Yes, there were 4 other boats out already, lol.

Started off slow until we came upon a school of smallies. Watched em chasing shiners right out of the water. Picked up a few each, 2ish pounders. Then I lost a real slob, possible pb

The bite stayed hot for a while. Picked up a Nice pick, redemption for the one I lost last trip, but a pound or two smaller. Also caught a couple Giant perch. And of course, more smallies.

Spent a little time lookin for eyes. Anchored in 20ish ft of water live lining shiners but no takers. Gonna have to try an evening trip. All in all, great day on a beautiful lake. I'll def be going back.

does canistear have a real boat launch? I know some of the watersheds have a launch that is considered car top, but can u launch a 16ft deepV? I dont need much but at least a gravel incline will usually work

There is a launch which is a gravel incline. You should be able to get your boat in there without too much trouble. I have seen guys out there with deep Vs. Remember electric only.

I have a 16ft deep v and I get in all of them canastir you have to back straight in the water big rocks on both sides Clinton res better to go to left or right if you go straight you will be able to fish from your truck cause you have to go in deep and echo and oak ridge mostly straight in no big rocks good luck

Half hour before sunrise to half hour after sunset. Pretty sure they patrol each night to make sure nobody "forgets" to leave.
