Latest Name That Trout Survey
This fish was caught during one bright sunny day during a February long ago in the Pequest at the base of the outfall. It had a 6 inch rainbow seen in its throat but took a #14 breadcrust wet fly.
Name the breed and origin and sex of this fish

Re: Latest Name That Trout Survey
I'll take a stab at it , female landlocked ! That lateral line throws me when it comes to trout ! Atlantic Salmon possibility, some I've taken around the globe had the lateral line
More prominent than others especially Russin, Ponoi fish! Last edited by Capt. Lou; 05-15-2012 at 09:48 AM.. |

Re: Latest Name That Trout Survey
Looks to me like a lightly spotted brown trout, possibly a sea-run. Given there's no kype I will guess it was a female. Neat looking fish!
