Default One of those rare (almost) perfect days...

Got out tonight in a new spot I havent had the chance to fish yet. Launched around 430pm and within 10 minutes was on my first fish, a short but chubby LMB. After a little bit of a paddle and some exploring, I got pretty lucky. After watching my spoon crankbait get swiped at by something, next cast it was on. Landed my new personal best Yellow Perch. Within the next 45 minutes, I landed a total of 4 big Yellow Perch and 4 LMB's, the biggest being Id guess close to 3lbs. After losing the hot lure that had got me all the day's fish, I thought I was toast for the day...but I was wrong. Threw on a big fire tiger jointed rapala and started casting into structure. A few minutes later, I had a huge topwater explosion and had hooked up with something respectable. After a few near misses, I landed what is now my personal best Pike. Could not get a length, but the fish weighed 5lbs9oz on my digital scale. I apologize for the subpar photo, as in my pumped up state, I set the camera on the wrong setting . Luckily, I took some video of the fish before sending him on his way.

Got off the water around 8pm. Total damage was 4 Yellow Perch including my now personal best, 4 Largemouths and 1 Northern Pike which is also now my personal best. Besides snagging my new go-to lure, getting the 'yak covered in mud, and this poison ivy on my left forearm, it was a great night out and up there with my more "lengenday" performances lol. Enjoy.

Thumbs up Re: One of those rare (almost) perfect days...

Nice day! Congrats on the new PB'S. NICE PIKE!!! When I find a lure that works and catches just about everything I usually buy 5-6 of that lure just to make sure my GO TO LURE is always in the box. Great report dude.

Every time I do that, I never catch another fish on that lure again!

Thanks guys. It really was one of those days where everything happened like its "supposed" to happen. Fish were where they were supposed to be, at the time they were supposed to be hitting, and on lures they are supposed to hit. For the most part it was non-stop action.

Now that I lost the lure, does anyone know the name of the green lure hanging out of the bass's mouth? It was given to me with a bunch of Musky stuff and had GREAT action in the water. Spoon crankbait
