Default Storm Updates - Check in Here

Everything fine here in Edison. Power stayed on all night and thankfully so did the sump pumps in the basement. A few puddles in the basement got up with shop vac and a big tree limb fell by were my camper is usually parked .

Pulled the boat on Friday so still waiting to find out how it we made out there. Talked to some people who left their boats in Leonardo State Marina and everyone made it through. One boat was listing a bit but that might be because of how it was tied up.

Heard that there is a breach from the Shrewsbury River to the Atlantic on Sandy Hook but not sure if that is true or not.

Hope everything went well for every one. Looks like we got lucky with this storm.

Just took a quick ride around. EVERYTHING is closed. Surprised to see Home Depot parking lot empty.

Trees down and broken limbs everywhere. Spotty power outages in Matawan, Aberdeen, Keyport and Hazlet.

Water receded surprisingly quick by KMB/Browns/Wagners. By noon Front St and area parking lots were clear of water. Boats still at the dock seemed to fare well.

2 blow boats broke loose from KYC moorings and are up on Cliffwood Beach.

Overall it could of been alot worse.

Thumbs up Re: Storm Updates - Check in Here

Gov. said, Get the hell off the roads!" Maybe go to the beach?

Got some wind last night, a few branches down, power off for about 10 minutes. From what I say on FB it looks like there is a bigger problem up north with rivers flash flooding?

Up here in Morris County we had a lot of rain last night. I might have to stock the pond that appeared in my back yard Its actually getting windier now with some pretty good gusts. Hope no trees come down Still have power. Heard Hopactcong, Dover and Morristown lost power during the night.

All in all seems like we dodged the bullet on this one

Moved my boat from my slip at Brielle Marine Basin to the dock at my house on a lagoon in Point Pleasant west of Canal just off Northern Barnegat Bay.

At high tide this morning water rose above my lower dock (as you can see in photo) about 4 feet higher than normal but fared well. No damage to our house either. I consider myself very fortunate. No power out either - very lucky! Hope it works out well for all!

Hope Brielle Marine Basin fared well - would like to move it back to that slip tomorrow if possible.

Bridgewater is fine. Power and everything else is ok. Making some garlic sesame chicken wings finishing up my last thirty of pabst. Going to work "from home" tomorrow due to all the "flooding and damage" to my neighborhood.

Might hands Sands again later, only place open

Default Post-Irene offshore water look

When I saw the clear forecast for today, I wasnt so much excited about having a nice day finally as being able to get a clear view of what the water did during the storm! In a word.. it looks COLD. there is 60.2 degree SST at CC and 64.4 in the hudson.

Of course, this will all have warmed up a bunch by later this week. And the warm that seems to be sitting about 20 miles east of the Edge should start swirling in as the winds normalize as well.

Much more interesting to me is to see a true color shot to see what became of The Bloom and to see how bad the runoff stuff is near the inlets (or outlets..) But I can't find one available just yet.

Hopefully this storm was a reset button for the inshore bluefin fishery.
