Default Fall run part 2

Where to fish, probably one of the biggest question a surfcaster has.Your catch ratios will increase if you know what to look for and tides to fish.I find that 2 hours before and 2 hours after high is the best time.Things to look for when getting to beach would be drop off's , outflows, sand bars and cuts.Drop offs are the easiest to find as the water will be different, usually darker in color and the beach will have 45 degree angle upon entry to the water, swimming plugs work great here.An outflow will be where the water rushes back out to sea creating a funnel like flow, bass tend to like this because bait is thrown at them with the turbulant water racing back out.Sandbars and cuts work together as fish will stage on either side of the bar waiting for and easy meal to get washed over.A cut is a break in the bar that allows fish to come into the surf line and the backside of the bar.Sand bars are found when a wave builds or breaks on the bar then reforms when over the bar. This structure is prime Ava's and needle time as this will be the location of the sand eels and feeding bass.I like to scope the beach out when I get there in the dark with a flashlight, many times you will find sand eels on the beach indicating the bass are on the feed.If anybody finds this helpful I write another one on jettys

Great info! Thanks for sharing. On the prior post, I'd also add 'school bus' to productive patterns of bombers and mambo minnows in those same patterns. The nice part about fishing at night in the fall is that the bass are usually in tight to the beach. Casting across or parallel to the beach in a trough can be much more productive than casting out.

Would like to see what you've got to say about our Jerzy Jettys.
