Bulls Island Mixed Bag 7/31

I fished the river from 6 to 12:30 today. I fished one rod with a jighead(w/ shiners and crawlers) and I livelined some creek chubs on my other rod. I caught a 8 inch striper and a 14 inch channel cat on nightcrawlers and a 11 inch smallie on a shiner. On the chubs, I got a 21 and a 24 inch channel cat and a fat 18 inch white catfish. I also got a hit on the chub and for some reason my baitrunner got hung up. As soon as the fish felt the rod bend it spit it. I reeled in a dead bait with teeth slashes about 3/4 the way up so I'm thinking a big walleye or small muskie.

My buddy caught a 2 lb smallie on a creature bait and a 10 in. smallie on a senko. He also got a big bluegill on a nightcrawler.

Nice job!!! Did you catch those chubs over by the canoe launch in the canal?I was there a couple weeks ago and there were TONS of them.

Na but it was a similar looking stream down by Trenton. Might even be the same stream.
